Edinburgh Scotland

Loren and Daniel in Edinborgh

We visited Scotland in December of 2019 and stayed in Edinburgh for a few days before taking the train to Glasgow. We stayed at a bed and breakfast in which was exciting for me as it was the first time Iā€™d stayed at one. We really enjoyed coming down from our room and having breakfast with the other travelers who were staying at the B&B at the same time as us.

During the day we visited museums, castles, monuments, pubs, and a very cute Christmas market. Both cities were full of history which we both enjoyed and taking public transportation was inexpensive and relatively easy.

We then ended up taking a day trip drive to the Scottish Highlands, which are just a few hours drive from Glasgow. This required renting a car as it would have taken far too long for us to take public transit. The Highlands were very wet that time of year with low hanging clouds and waterfalls that came down from the mountains. I wish we had more time to take hikes and explore but we were short on time and had to make the best of it.

Overall I would highly recommend and if you have time on your trip, stay at least one night in the Highlands and enjoy what it has to offer.
