Ameugny France

In December of 2021 we visited France and it was a fantastic way to spend the Christmas holiday. After flying into Paris we met up with family and started the long drive to Ameugny, a little village in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in eastern France. With a population of around 150 it is definitely what I picture when I think of a small village in the countryside surrounded by farm land. The buildings are all kept in the same style that has dominated the architecture of the area for the last several hundred years. The village is also the site of a religious monastery where the members have taken vows of silence. If you plan to visit from Paris I highly recommend taking the high speed train over driving. The town itself is beautiful and the church at the center of town is famous for their New Year’s mass that is given in multiple languages.
